Hello my dear ones!
I'm so glad you're joining me again on my blog post.
As the title suggests, today you'll find out what inspires me and how it all ends up on my canvas.
One of my greatest passions is traveling, exploring new places, and especially the sea 😍
For me, longer trips or even just a week's break always mean:
➡️ Switching off, recharging energy, and gathering inspiration for new works
I’m mostly inspired during walks by the sea, hikes, or just in general when I spend time outdoors in nature.
In these moments, I gather color combinations and pay close attention to which feelings and emotions are being stirred. Then I make a quick note, maybe take a photo, and later in my studio, I can refer back to that one moment.
Back in the studio, I look at the photo and the note, and start mixing the colors. Only then does the actual painting begin.
What happens next is pure intuition – completely unpredictable.
Turn on the music.
Prepare the colors and water.
And then it begins!
First, I spread a splash of paint across the canvas with a palette knife, followed by a lot of water. Then, I mix both directly on the canvas with a brush and let it all flow beautifully. Usually, I apply a second color in the same way, so that both can blend together directly. Then it’s time to wait.
It takes at least 24 hours for the first layer to fully dry.
Next, I continue with more liquid color mixtures or apply the paint directly with the palette knife.
Feel free to check out one of my videos on Instagram to see how the process I’ve just described looks.
Finally, I draw fine lines and details with acrylic pens or oil pastels.
And that’s the whole magic 💫
Many people think I have a natural creative talent. But deep down, we all know that no master has ever fallen from the sky.
It takes a lot of hard work, experimenting, and sometimes failure.
So glad you read until the end again! Thank you!
Until next time!
Yours, Céline
